Amirreza Negari

My work combines analytic ideas with numerical tools to understand the physics of information and matter, from error correction and quantum memories to entanglement theory, decodability, and learnability.

Profile

Academic Path

I started physics through the Physics Olympiad in high school, continued at Sharif University of Technology, came to Perimeter through the PSI master’s program, completed my PhD there, and then joined the Quantum Interactions Theory Group at IQC as a postdoc.

Methods

My work combines analytic ideas with numerical tools to understand the physics of information and matter. I use tensor networks, quantum Monte Carlo, stabilizer, Clifford, and Gaussian formalisms, along with other ways of classically simulating hard quantum problems.

Teaching & Community

Teaching has been a central part of my physics path, from Olympiad instruction to mentoring students at Perimeter. I enjoy helping students find the simple idea behind a difficult problem, and building communities where that kind of thinking can happen naturally.

Contact

I’d always be happy to receive physics problems, questions, or half-formed thoughts by email. I also enjoy hearing about AI, history, languages, politics, or watching an interesting video about cuneiform. I sometimes keep related thoughts in notes.
